Farm Park is inspired by our growing Farm to Table program that provides the opportunity for local 5th graders to have an interactive experience with various agricultural components to show how the food we eat gets to our table.

Learning Opportunities within the park:

Cow Milking-Kootenai/Shoshone Farm Bureau loves to educate youth about how to milk a cow and the processes it goes through to end up in the carton we buy at the store.

Livestock-Local farmers allow us to borrow their animals for the week to give a real “farm life” experience to kids that may not be familiar with larger animals. This also allows for kids to learn about different species, breeds, purposes, and by-products.

Health/Germ Safety-This year, Medicine Man is helping us to promote the importance of sanitation. Farm Park’s Germ Barn will make the germs stand out so after washing their hands, participants will see the difference.

Careers-Our display of agricultural careers doesn’t even come close to the full list of opportunities that this unique industry offers. If interested in any of these options, be sure to check out “How to Get Started” at the bottom of each track.

Pizza Garden-This unique combination of grains, meats, veggies, and herbs shows the diverse areas of agriculture coming together in a very common product.
