2018 Fair Award Recognition

Regional and International Recognition Awarded to the North Idaho State Fair

The North Idaho State Fair received Awards of Excellence in multiple categories at two annual conventions this year. The Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs (RMAF) held in Billings, Montana and the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) held in San Antonio, Texas.

First place awards (IAFE) included: Agriculture Program Area Beautification, Outstanding Single Photo (Non-Animal General Display), Outstanding Off-Season Contest (Non-Animal), Outstanding General Display Photo Series, and Outstanding Promotional/Advertising Poster.

Between both organizations, RMAF and IAFE, the North Idaho State Fair also took home nine 2nd place awards and six 3rd place awards. Some categories included: Fair Theme Logo, New Contest, Sponsor Innovation, Printed Promotional Material, Premium Book, Non-Fair Ag Program (Spring Livestock Show), Magazine Ad and Increasing Awareness of Competitive Exhibits.

The International Association of Fairs and Expositions, based in Springfield, Mo., is a voluntary, nonprofit corporation, serving state, provincial, regional, and county agricultural fairs, shows, exhibitions and Expositions. The Gem State Stampede PRCA Rodeo is in the award news as well. The rodeo, which takes place in the Findlay Arena during the annual fair, was named Small Rodeo of the Year by the Columbia River Circuit. Steve Kenyon, announcer, was selected to host this year’s Contestant Welcome Reception at the NFR where Jill Franzen Loden won Music Director of the Year.
