Open Class General Rules

Important News


  • Rabbits and Poultry: Unfortunately, there will be no Open Class Livestock this year.
  • Adult Show: No longer 4-H exclusive, adults and 4-H alumni are welcome and encouraged to take part in this adult livestock show. See Department 20 for more information.
  • Youth Awards: Youth points will now be calculated to go toward Jr. Green Thumb, Best Jr. Cook, and Premier Jr. Exhibitor.
  • Competitive Exhibits Checklist: For convenience we have supplied you with a list to help make sure all items get to their destination in time.
  • Various Departments: This year, new awards will be available for first-time exhibitors and exhibitors with special needs or that require assistance to enter. Participants should make note of these categories when updating their personal information while registering.
  • Various Departments:Find the theme logo throughout the Exhibitor’s Handbook to take part in theme related Special Contests! This year’s theme is The Fair Necessities!

Entry Deadlines

On-line: Monday, August 10 by midnight

Using Entry Form: Monday, August 10 by 5 pm

Entry intake days:

· Quilts: Thursday, August 13 from 2 to 7 pm

· Non-perishables: Monday & Tuesday, August 17 & 18 from 2 to 7 pm

· Culinary perishables: Monday, August 24 from Noon to 7 pm

· Fruits and Vegetables: Monday, August 24 from 4 to 7 pm

· Fruits, Vegetables and Tuesday Flowers: Tuesday, August 25 from 7 am to Noon

· Friday Flowers: Friday, August 28 from 6:30 to 9:30 am
